Parking Garage Boudoir | Ithaca, New York
Agghhhh another parking garage, you might be thinking? After we just saw this awesome boudoir photo shoot? But see, we had a car, and a motorcycle in that one! And we don’t in this one…obviously a completely different vibe. Right? Right??? I’m going with it and you can’t stop me. Plus, you have to see this amazing goddess after all the hard work and dedication she’s put in. She drove all the way from Syracuse and braved the cold on a winter day while balancing on the edge of a concrete railing. You need this shoot in your life.
Since I’ve already given you my tips for photo shoots in parking garages recently, this is a great spot to talk about pulling off boudoir photography in studio and on location. My best suggestion, having done this many times over the years of being a boudoir photographer is, if you’re looking for two looks and locations that have such a different vibe, you really should consider booking two separate photo shoot times. Then you can prep for each one best, and enjoy having the extra time to relax into the shoot and try out different poses and outfits.
If you really want to get the best of both worlds during one photography booking, that can absolutely happen too – with some accommodations and the right approach. Since the photoshoot time is split, each portion will be shorter and give you more of a taste of that location, rather than the full experience. For example, if you were eyeballing having the opportunity to change into 3 to 4 outfits, you’d plan on splitting them between the spots and having, for example, 2 at the indoor boudoir studio and 1 outdoors, as well as a smaller set of poses and variety at each spot. You also want to think about the time of day that’s optimal for each location – you might need to split your day to get the gorgeous morning light indoors and return in the afternoon for that waterfall golden hour.
