Before and After Annastasia’s boudoir photo session
Boudoir photography tends to be a very new and foreign experience for most folks. Getting dressed up in lingerie and posing in front of a camera is not just-your-average Sunday, is it? It’s pretty normal to be quite nervous going into it, and unsure of what to expect. So when Annastasia graciously agreed to share some of her thoughts before and after her session, in addition to her absolutely smoking hot boudoir pictures, let me tell you, I did a little happy dance! What better way is there to show what a session really feels like than through a real person’s eyes?
What made you decide to have a boudoir photography experience?
A: I have been a fan of boudoir photography for years, and how incredibly beautiful and confident all of the women looked. Women of all shapes and sizes from all walks of life, each and every one of them absolutely stunning. I envied their confidence, something I had always struggled with. Thanks to the support of my fiancé and friends and the full-size models that I had been looking up to for the better part of my life, I finally decided to go for it at the age of 40 years old. To find the confidence to learn to love the woman I have always been and the woman I was striving to become, and for the other women who needed to see someone who looked like them to gain their confidence.
Did you do anything to prepare for your session?
A: To prepare for the shoot, I went full on pampering mode. I didn’t want to be self-conscious about any of the little things that we so often overlook on keeping up with, because as women we so often put others’ needs ahead of our own. So, I one hundred percent made this about me and about making myself feel as beautiful as I possibly could. I got my roots touched up and some fresh highlights, a full pedicure and some acrylic nails with a French manicure, a full Brazilian wax front to back and my thighs waxed. I had been reading blogs and watching videos on how to prepare and what to expect from your boudoir shoot along with posing and any information I could find, I absorbed it like a sponge. If I was going to finally to do this for myself, I was determined to make it the best experience possible. For outfits I brought a couple new items, one I was comfortable in, and thought would hide my “trouble” spots. The other two, were outfits that when I saw them online, I thought “holy hell those are hot!!”. I normally wouldn’t have dared to even consider myself in them, but here I was embarking on something else I had never dared to do. So I went for it, and let me tell you, it paid off!!! I shared my excitement and the whole preparation process with people I knew would be supportive, and it made all the difference. The hairdresser, nail technician, and aesthetician, all went the extra mile to make sure I was fully prepared, hell even my chiropractor.
A: This photoshoot was the absolute best experience of my life and one of the most impactful. It was fun and lighthearted, but professional at the same time. Nellie put me at complete ease and extinguished any nerves I had coming into the shoot. I can’t wait to book my next shoot!! She helped me feel beautiful and feminine, something I hadn’t felt in so long, and I gained an inner confidence I didn’t know was possible. The whole experience far exceeded my expectations!!!
